The three sections of this manual are obedience, refraining from disobedience, and the etiquette of companionship with the Creator and with creation.

This manual truly is “The Beginning of Guidance.” It is essential for any seeker of knowledge. It shows ways to benefit from knowledge through acting upon it in accordance with the Prophetic example (sunnah).

Bidayah al-Hidayah is widely considered the best—and most practical—starting point in the study of mainstream Islamic spirituality. 

Objective

This manual underlays a solid foundation in the study of Shafie school of thought, and will assist seekers to the basic understanding of essential elements of the Islamic faith, practice and morality that are required of a muslim. This module provides students with the knowledge to practise obedience and sunnah acts from the moment they wake up to the moment they sleep, making best use of their time, avoiding sins, and fulfilling the rights of others.
