Essentials of Fiqh al-Taḥawwulāt

Course Outline

This four-day course will cover the basis, the basic principles, and the key ideas behind Fiqh al-Taḥawwulāt – the science of understanding transformations in human history – and its sub-topics, and a background of its key proponent, Habib Abu Bakr Al-Adniy bin Ali Al-Masyhur.

– Madrasah Hadramawt
– The Ten Foundational Principles of Taḥawwulāt
– Ta’ṣīl of Fiqh Al-Taḥawwulāt (origins of the science)

Arkān ad-Dīn (Integrals of the Religion)
– Arkān Fiqh al-Taḥawwulāt (The Integrals of Fiqh Taḥawwulāt)
– Ulum Fiqh Aal-Taḥawwulāt (The Sciences of Tahawwulaat)

– The Two Sunnas of Fiqh Al-Taḥawwulāt

– Periodisation of History

Medium of Instruction

The course will be taught in English language.

The teacher, Ustaz Muhammad Hamdan bin Rahmat, holds a BSc in Physics from the National University of Singapore, a BA in Islamic Studies from UIKA-Az-Zuhri Institute, and had recently completed his MPhil dissertation from RZS-CASIS, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, on Habib Abu Bakr’s Taḥawwulāt and Its Significance. He studied Fiqh Al-Taḥawwulāt since 2013 from Habib Ahmad bin Umar Alkaff, the son in law of Habib Abu Bakr, and Habib Abu Bakr himself during his visit to Singapore. Habib Abu Bakr has also given him a written ijazah (permission) to teach his works.
