1. To be able to read the Quran in fluent and precise manner
2. To understand the rules of Tajweed

Medium of Instruction

Classes will be taught in English & Malay language or Malay language only.

Program Modules

Students will learn using Iqra book 1-6.

Iqra 1

  • To be able to read the Arabic Letters with its proper Makhraj
  • To be able to recognize the names of the Arabic Letters
  • To be able to recognize Fathah (harakah)

Iqra 2

  • To be able to read the Arabic Letters when they are joined
  • To focus on Makhraj, sifatul huruf and rhythm (counts/beats)
  • To introduce Mad Asli/ Mad thobi’e

Iqra 3

  • To be able to recognize Kasrah and Dhommah (harakah)
  • To be able to read the Arabic Letters when they are joined and have different harakah and count
  • To ensure that the Sifatul huruf of each letter is read properly
  • To introduce Mad Silah, Mad Aridh Li Sukun

Iqra 4

  • To be able to recognize Tanwin
  • To be able to read the Arabic Letters when they are joined and have different harakah and count
  • To ensure that the Sifatul huruf of each letter is read properly
  • To introduce Mad Iwadh, Izhar Halqi, Mad Laiyin, Nun Sakinah, Qalqalah, huruf Sakinah

Iqra 5

  • To be able to waqaf properly
  • To be able to recognize and read Mad Jaiz, Mad Wajib
  • To be able to recognize and read Idhgam bil Ghunnah Musyadadah
  • To be able to recognize and read Alif Lam Qamariah and Alif Lam Syamsiah
  • To be able to recognize and read Huruf Syiddah
  • To be able to recognize and read Idgham bi laa Ghunnah
  • To be able to recognize and read Lafzhul Jalallah

Iqra 6

  • To be able to recognize and read Idgham ma’al Ghunnah
  • To be able to recognize and read Iqlab
  • To be able to recognize and read Ihfak Haqiqi
  • To be able to recognize waqaf signs
  • To be able to recognize and read Mad Lazim

Who Should Attend

This program is for those who wish to learn to read the Quran.

Entry Requirements

  1. 13 years old and above
  2. Desire to learn must come from the student himself/herself (ie. it is not due to the coercion of his parents or guardians).

A minimum of 8 students are required for the class to commence.

Assessment

There is a test at the end of every book. A certificate will be given to students who passed the test.

Admission

Yes, ladies and men are segregated into different classes. The ladies are taught by ustazahs while the men are taught by ustazs.
