Ramadhan Q&A
The month of Ramadan is a glorious month. This month was chosen as the month for fasting and in this month also the Qur’an was revealed.

(Al Baqarah: 185)
1. In it, there is a Night of Glory i.e. Lailatul Qadr.
2. The doors of the Hellfire are closed & the doors of Paradise are opened.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “When Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari 1898)
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari 38)
On every night of Ramadan, say the following in your heart in any languages;
I intend to fast in the month of Ramadhan this year for the sake of Allah swt.

Hafsa reported God’s messenger as saying, “He who does not before dawn express his intention of fasting is not credited with it.”
(Mishkat al-Masabih 1987)
The supplication of a person who is fasting is not turned back. Make a lot of supplications while waiting for adzan.
While waiting for adzan to break your fast, you may sit with your family/friends & recite the following together;
“Asyhadu allaa ilaaha illallah, astaghfirullah, nas alukal jannata wa na’udzu bika minan naar” (3 x)
followed by;
“Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun, tuhibbul ‘afwa, fa’fu ‘annaa” (3 x)
Repeat it until the adzan comes.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
There are three whose supplications are not turned back: A just ruler, and a fasting person until he breaks his fast. And, the supplication of one who has been wronged is raised by Allah up to the clouds on the Day of Resurrection, and the gates of heaven are opened for it, and Allah says, ‘By My Might I will help you (against the wrongdoer) even if it is after a while.’”
Sunan Ibn Majah 1752

The Prophet said: “When one of you breaks his fast, then let him do so with dried dates. And whoever does not find dates, then water, for it is purifying.”
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 695
Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to break his Saum (fasting) before performing Maghrib prayer with three fresh date-fruits; if there were no fresh date- fruits, he will eat three dry dates; and if there were no dry date- fruits; he would take three draughts of water.
