The Halaqah Asas Bahasa Arab program provides a holistic learning experience, covering foundational Arabic grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and essential Islamic disciplines such as jurisprudence, tauhid, akhlaq, seerah, tajwid, and Quranic memorisation.

This program is a gateway to further studies in Tarim. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be well-equipped to continue your studies at some of the most prestigious Islamic educational institutions, in shaa Allah.

Book 1 & 2
Through Nahu, explore the vital elements of Arabic Syntax, essential for understanding the language in which the divine message was revealed.
Book: Al-Ajrumiyyah
Al-Ajrumiyyah lays out the fundamental building blocks of Arabic grammar, paving the way for a strong linguistic foundation.
Book: Madinah Reader
Book 1, 2 & 3
Madinah Arabic Reader introduces learners to essential Arabic language skills through interactive lessons.
Book: Hilal
Book 1, 2 & 3
Hilal offers a concise and effective approach to learning the Arabic language. The author guides students with clear, straightforward explanations and provides practical exercises to ensure mastery of the language.
Book: Al-Tasrifat
Book 1 & 2
Through Al-Tasrifat, students learn verb conjugations and noun declensions.
Book: Fawaid al-Nahwiyyah
Fawaid al-Nahwiyyah is a compilation of essential definitions and key information, tailored for students of the Arabic language, to deepen their understanding of Arabic grammar and syntax.

Book: Safinah al-Najah
Safinah al-Najah offers a concise and essential guide to worship, encompassing fundamental insights into purification, prayer, zakat, and fasting.
Book:Mukhtasar Lateef
Mukhtasar Lateef is a widely studied text within the Shafi’e school of jurisprudence, cherished for its concise yet comprehensive coverage of essential Islamic practices. It delves into key topics such as purification, prayer, zakat, fasting, pilgrimage, and some rulings on transactions. Traditionally, it is studied after completing Safinah al-Najah, serving as a natural progression for students seeking deeper understanding in the mazhab.

Akhlaq

Akhlaq lil-Banin equips seekers with the knowledge of manners towards Allah, His messenger, parents, teachers, and people in general.
Book: Dakwah yang Sempurna Peringatan yang Utama
This book explains about the call to Allah (swt), to His religion, and the paths leading to Him, the commands related to it, its virtues, and the encouragement towards it.
Tajwid
Book: Ilmu Tajwid Cara Mudah & Berkesan
Through this manual, you will learn the proper places of articulating Arabic letters, their characteristics, and other rulings related to Quranic recitation.

*Those who have memorised this Juz’ will memorise suwar lazim (essential surahs).

Homeschoolers
Day, Time & Venue
Days: 4 Weekdays and 1 Weekend
Time: 8.30 am – 2.00 pm (Ends 12.30 pm on Fridays)

Assessment
- 80% of attendance is required to sit for examination
- Assessment consists of participation, memorisation (40%) and tests (60%); together with overall assessments by teachers.

Progression Opportunities
Graduates who excel in their course of study may progress to full-time studies in Tarim* or in local institutions*.

Entry Requirements
- Applicants should be 13 years of age or older.
- The desire to learn must come from the applicant himself/herself (ie. it is not due to the coercion of his parents or guardians).
- Basic proficiency in reading the Quran is required (those not fluent need to attend Quran class)
- Uphold qualities of discipline, punctuality, and good conduct.
- A deposit of $500 is required to serve as a guarantor of a 2-year commitment

Placement Test
On the first day of class, there will be a placement test to assess your knowledge and skills to determine whether you should start in Year 1, or if you’re ready to advance directly to Year 2. This way, you’ll be in a class that matches your level.
Registration for the January 2025 intake closes on 1 December 2024, or once the class is full.
